Terms of service

Portinout provides telecom savings analysis, switching guidance, carrier data, developer tools, and API access. These terms explain the rules for using the service and the limits of Portinout's recommendations.

Last updated

June 12, 2026. These terms apply to Portinout consumer tools, accounts, developer dashboard features, public API access, webhooks, documentation, and related support.

Consumer service

  • Portinout analyzes user-provided bill information, manually entered plan details, public carrier data, and internal telecom data to estimate savings and switching options.
  • Recommendations, savings calculations, coverage confidence, trade-in estimates, porting steps, and phone deal strategies are informational estimates, not guarantees.
  • Carrier prices, taxes, fees, device credits, eligibility rules, coverage, trade-in values, promotional terms, and porting requirements can change without notice.

User responsibilities

  • Confirm final plan pricing, deal terms, device balances, network coverage, taxes, fees, and eligibility directly with the carrier, retailer, or trade-in provider before switching or buying.
  • Upload only the bill sections needed for analysis and avoid including names, addresses, account numbers, phone numbers, or other personal information when possible.
  • Do not cancel an old service line before confirming unlock status, number transfer requirements, transfer PINs, device payoff obligations, and successful activation with the new provider.

Accounts

  • Users are responsible for keeping sign-in links, sessions, management tokens, API keys, and webhook signing secrets confidential.
  • Portinout may suspend, limit, or terminate access for abuse, security risk, unlawful activity, scraping, attempted circumvention, payment failure, or violation of these terms.
  • Users must provide accurate account and contact information when creating alerts, requesting support, or using developer features.

API access

  • API customers may use Portinout data only within their approved plan, scopes, rate limits, quota, documentation, and written agreement with Portinout.
  • API customers may not resell, bulk export, sublicense, train competing telecom datasets from, or publicly redistribute Portinout data unless a written agreement allows it.
  • API customers must not use public API routes to infer or access consumer bill uploads, raw extraction data, app sessions, user feedback, internal review records, or unpublished internal data.

Caching and attribution

  • API customers should use ETag, If-None-Match, Last-Modified, and If-Modified-Since validators when available.
  • Cached API data must be refreshed within the cache period, freshness rules, or other limits shown in the API documentation or customer agreement.
  • Portinout may require attribution, freshness labels, or source timestamps when API data is shown to end users.

Webhooks

  • Customers are responsible for providing safe HTTPS webhook URLs, validating Portinout signatures, rejecting stale timestamps, and preventing replay attacks.
  • Portinout may retry webhook deliveries, disable failing endpoints, rotate or revoke secrets, and limit payloads to protect reliability and security.
  • Customers must not use webhook endpoints that target internal networks, localhost, private IP ranges, or systems they are not authorized to receive data on.

Billing

  • Paid API plans, overages, renewals, invoices, taxes, cancellations, and refunds are governed by the selected plan, checkout terms, invoice terms, and any written agreement.
  • Payment processing may be handled by a third-party payment provider. Access may be limited or suspended for failed, disputed, or overdue payments.
  • Usage shown in Portinout systems is the basis for quota and overage calculations unless a written agreement states otherwise.

Data accuracy

  • Portinout works to keep telecom data verified, but does not guarantee that every plan, promotion, price, device deal, trade-in value, porting rule, or coverage claim is complete or current.
  • The service may include data from carrier websites, public sources, third-party sources, automated extraction, manual review, and user feedback.
  • Portinout is not a carrier, wireless reseller, financial advisor, legal advisor, or tax advisor.

Affiliate disclosure

  • Portinout may earn commissions from some links.
  • Affiliate commissions do not determine recommendation ranking.
  • Affiliate relationships do not guarantee that a carrier, plan, device, deal, or trade-in option is available or best for every user.

Disclaimers and liability

  • The service is provided as is and as available, without warranties to the fullest extent allowed by law.
  • Portinout is not responsible for carrier decisions, denied promotions, failed ports, coverage gaps, device lock status, early termination consequences, lost bill credits, or third-party service outages.
  • To the fullest extent allowed by law, Portinout's liability is limited to the amount paid to Portinout for the service giving rise to the claim during the prior 12 months.
