How to Get Your Verizon Number Transfer PIN
Porting away from Verizon is straightforward — here's how to get your transfer PIN in under 5 minutes.
What you need
Your new carrier needs your Verizon account number and a transfer PIN. Verizon makes this easy through their app — no phone call required.
Method 1: My Verizon app (fastest)
Open the My Verizon app on your phone.
Go to Account → My Plan.
Tap Number Transfer PIN.
Verizon generates a PIN valid for 7 days. Screenshot it.
Your account number is in Account → Account details.
Method 2: My Verizon website
Log in at verizon.com → My Account.
Navigate to Account → My Plan → Number Transfer PIN.
Copy the PIN and your account number.
Common pitfalls
- Do NOT cancel Verizon before porting. Your number will be lost.
- Verizon auto-unlocks devices 60 days after purchase if paid off. Check your device status before starting.
- If you have bill credits from a device promo, the remaining device balance becomes due immediately when you port out.
Switching to a Verizon MVNO?
If you're switching to Visible, US Mobile, or another Verizon MVNO, you're staying on the same network. Coverage will be essentially identical, and the port process is the same. Many users save $40–80/month by switching from Verizon postpaid to a Verizon MVNO.
